How it all began.
It was an unplanned side hustle.
Accounting Pros Northwest started as what is now referred to as a “side hustle”. Company Founder Raquel Flournoy was approached by her previous employer to help out while one of their accountants was on 3-month maternity leave. He called it “freelance work”. Mrs. Flournoy was able to work after hours and on weekends to keep the accountant’s work caught up.
It was a no-brainer to continue to do “freelance work”. After securing a few more clients Mrs. Flournoy replaced her corporate job and started up “Accounting Pros Northwest” in October 2003.
“There is a great need for accounting professionals within the small business community. Solopreneurs and small businesses do not need an in-house accounting staff but need a partnership with an experienced and knowledgeable accounting and tax professional. I love numbers…I can spend hours reconciling or working on spreadsheets” Raquel Flournoy

From the Founder; Raquel W. Flournoy
I am a proud military brat from the Pacific Northwest. I first found my love of math and accounting in high school and continue to this day. I have been married for over thirty years with two adult children, a furbaby named Hannibal and grand furbaby named Louie. During my free time, I enjoy watching sports(football, baseball, and golf) and TV binging. Traveling is also a passion of mine. I would like to tour Europe and Asia in the next few years. Even though my accounting firm partners with a variety of different types of small businesses my favorite industry by far is construction and working on cost accounting. I am also the Treasurer of disAbility Sports Foundation.
